A vendor listing on The Knot and WeddingWire is a business page, which the company calls a Storefront, that shows your photos, pricing, reviews and contact details to couples planning a wedding. You start it by creating a free WeddingPro account, and a separate paid advertising plan adds prime placement, more leads and more tools. Our take: set up the free Storefront because couples start their search on these two sites and the listing costs nothing, keep every detail identical to your website and Google Business Profile, and do not sign a paid plan until you have the price, the twelve-month auto-renewal and the ten-day cancellation window in writing. This guide covers how the two sites relate, how to get a Storefront, what is free and what paid adds, reviews, how to edit, remove or cancel, and what it honestly does for local SEO.

One note on sources: every claim about The Knot and WeddingWire below comes from their own pages, read in November 2026. WeddingPro’s vendor page, the WeddingPro review policy, the WeddingPro sign-up page and The Knot Worldwide’s Terms of Use and Terms of Purchase all opened, and so did WeddingWire’s own vendor page, which lists the Storefront as business details, photos and videos, reviews and leads, with premium placement through advertising packages and no prices. The Knot’s own vendor advertising page (theknot.com/vendors/features), its help center, WeddingPro’s help-center articles and several WeddingWire vendor-support articles refused our research tools with a “403 Forbidden” (a Business Wire copy of a 2024 release did too, and we read it through a news reprint). Where we cite those we say we saw them only as search results, and we rely on the pages that did open. In our own catalog, WeddingWire is the first site on our wedding-services citation list and fifth on our catering, florists and photographers lists, and our catalog labels it free.

The Knot Vendor Listing and WeddingWire: Free vs Paid, illustrated cover

How The Knot and WeddingWire relate

Both are consumer wedding brands of The Knot Worldwide, a company that lists The Knot, WeddingWire, WeddingPro, Hitched, The Bump and others on its own site. It says about 900,000 wedding professionals use its platforms. Its July 2025 release describes WeddingPro as its U.S. business-to-business wedding brand and a marketplace and community for wedding professionals, where vendors advertise and manage their Storefronts; the two consumer sites are where couples browse. The Knot Worldwide’s terms refer to The Knot, WeddingWire, Bodas and The Bump as its brands.

What the company does not say in the pages we read is why it runs two sites or whether one Storefront is identical on both. WeddingPro’s vendor page says Storefronts appear on The Knot and WeddingWire and that Basic reaches both. Its help pages, which we saw only as search results, point to separate screens: on The Knot you edit Contact Info under the Storefront tab, and on WeddingWire you edit Business Information under the same tab. The same results mention a unified WeddingPro Profile tool for some profile content, so the screens may have changed since those pages were written. The practical rule: after any edit, open the listing on both sites and read it as a couple would.

The Knot vendor listing: free vs paid

WeddingPro names two plans. Its sign-up flow says free, with no credit card or commitment, and it calls the paid plan Premium in one section and Advanced in its comparison table. The page’s comparison table did not show which tick belongs to which plan in the text we could read, so this table uses only what the page states in prose.

Basic (free)Premium or Advanced (paid)
CostFree account, no credit card or commitmentNot published; WeddingPro says to contact its team
StorefrontA free Storefront to show your business with photos, pricing and moreA paid Storefront with prime placement, featured badges and tools
ReachBasic reach across The Knot and WeddingWireExpanded visibility, per WeddingPro’s plan table
LeadsDirect messages from couplesWeddingPro says Premium members get 4X more leads
AnalyticsLimited: monthly impressions and visitorsComprehensive, including link clicks and new leads
ReviewsThe plan table lists “Collect and display reviews” without showing the plan in the text we readReplies to reviews are a premium feature (per the review policy, see below)

WeddingPro’s “4X” figure is the company’s own sales claim, so test it against your own lead numbers before you pay for it. The Knot Worldwide’s July 2025 release, which concerns U.S. vendors who advertise on WeddingPro, describes advanced pricing (a starting price, what couples usually spend and packages) and availability tools, and says paid vendors can create Deals and earn a Recently Updated badge for updating their Storefront in the last 15 days. WeddingPro’s plan table also lists “Highlight package pricing and deals” and “See complete couple details” without showing, in the text we read, which plan has them.

A July 2024 release also announced a free Storefront plus a pay-for-performance tier that mixes a low base subscription fee with a monthly budget the vendor chooses, said price points vary by region and category, and said the tier was coming by the end of Q1 2025 with pricing available once the offer was active. WeddingPro’s current pages do not name that tier, so ask whether it is offered to you.

What the terms say about free

The Terms of Use, effective February 9, 2026, say the company may offer different paid and free memberships. They add that free services do not guarantee any placement or access to features, and that the company reserves the right to terminate or cancel any free service at any time without notice. A free Storefront is worth having, but do not build a business around its position.

How to get a Storefront on The Knot and WeddingWire

  1. Create a free WeddingPro account. The sign-up page at weddingpro.com/signup is headed “Create your free account” and is step 1 of 4; the first step asks for your first and last name, phone number and email. We could see only that first step, so we cannot describe the later ones or any verification.
  2. Use an email your company controls. The account is where reviews, leads and billing live, so a personal address becomes a problem when staff change.
  3. Build the Storefront. WeddingPro lists the steps as sign up, build your Storefront, then receive messages from couples. A WeddingWire help article titled “What are the Storefront Setup Requirements for Free and Starter Vendors” exists, but it refused our fetch tool, so we cannot say what it requires. Check the checklist inside your account.
  4. Fill in the core fields exactly as they appear elsewhere. Business name, address or service area, phone, website and category should match your website and Google Business Profile character for character.
  5. Add real photos and a clear price range. The Knot Worldwide’s July 2025 release says vendors who complete their Storefronts with details like pricing see nearly twice as many two-way conversations with couples on average. That is the company’s figure, but a complete page is also what couples compare.
  6. Check it on both sites. Search your business name on The Knot and WeddingWire after it publishes.

Do not buy a plan to be listed. The sign-up pages describe the free Basic plan as the entry point, and the paid plan as placement and tools on top.

Reviews on The Knot and WeddingWire

The WeddingPro vendor page says the two sites host more than 9 million couple reviews. The review policy sets the rules:

  • Who can review. The reviewer must be a verified client, meaning a contract party, someone with proof of payment (not for tours, tastings or interviews) or a couple named on the contract or payment.
  • When. The event must be wedding-related and within the last two years of the review. A reviewer can submit before the event or up to two years after it.
  • Replies. Vendor responses are described as a premium feature for paid vendors, and responses follow the same content rules as reviews.
  • What is removed. Profanity, hateful or discriminatory content, private identifying information, spam, duplicates, and content that is verifiably false and supported by objective documentation. Differences of opinion and subjective experiences do not qualify. A vendor can remove all third-party reviews from its storefront but cannot remove individual reviews.
  • Disputes. A vendor gets a one-time dispute per review, filed from the Reviews section of the dashboard. The company may hide the review while it asks both sides for documents, with 10 calendar days to respond. It does not accept disputes for differences of opinion or subjective experiences or for reviews posted more than 12 months earlier, and it says dispute decisions are not influenced by any refund negotiation or payment dispute.
  • No manipulation. Vendors may not post reviews on their own storefront, solicit several reviews from one client, or restrict a client’s right to review, for example through non-disparagement clauses.

On awards, we could not open WeddingPro’s award help articles (403), so we cannot give you the current rules. A reprint of The Knot Worldwide’s 2026 Wedding Awards announcement says winners had at least seven reviews with an average of 4.5 or higher in the eligibility period, with extra criteria varying by country, and the search results for a WeddingPro help article say awards are earned separately on each platform and reviews cannot be combined across them. Confirm the threshold and the period in your dashboard.

How to edit, remove or cancel

GoalWhat the pages say
Edit detailsSign in at weddingpro.com. Help pages (seen as search results) say to edit Contact Info on The Knot and Business Information on WeddingWire under the Storefront tab.
Change market or locationWeddingPro’s help pages say to send the new city, state and zip code to support.
Get helpWeddingPro’s help pages, seen as search results, give support@weddingpro.com and 877-331-7752.
Cancel a paid planIn the WeddingPro dashboard: to stop the first renewal, at least ten days before the initial 12-month term ends; after that, at least ten days before the next billing date, or it ends on the following billing date.
RefundsThe Terms of Purchase say payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
Price risesAfter the first term, the company may raise rates with at least 30 days written notice. Promotional discounts apply only to the current term.
Remove a free listingWe found no official removal process for a free Storefront. Ask support@weddingpro.com for it in writing.

The Terms of Purchase also say a bundle cannot be partly cancelled, so check what is in a package before you accept it.

Does a Knot or WeddingWire listing help local SEO?

We found no source that shows a Knot or WeddingWire storefront improves Google Maps rankings, and neither company claims it. What is defensible: a Storefront is a public NAP record (name, address, phone) plus website link and reviews on large consumer sites in your industry, and the same details feed the checks that search engines and AI assistants do when they compare sources. WeddingPro itself says its marketplaces “organically appear in over 7 million keyword search results” and that a listing “could help boost pros’ overall visibility in AI search” (its blog; these are sales statements about its own placements). The reliable return is leads and reviews from couples already searching on those sites, so measure that.

Consistency decides whether it helps or hurts. Run your business through the free NAP checker after you edit, and if the same company appears twice on one site, our guide to finding and fixing duplicate listings shows the cleanup. A wedding vendor with a free page on both sites and a stale phone number on one of them has made its own mismatch.

Common mistakes with a wedding vendor listing

  • Buying a plan to “get listed.” The free Basic plan is the listing. The paid plan buys placement and tools.
  • Missing the cancellation window. Cancel at least ten days before the initial term ends or the next billing date, or the agreement runs to the following one.
  • Assuming one edit updates both sites. Support pages show separate edit screens on The Knot and WeddingWire.
  • Posting your own review or asking for several. The policy bans both.
  • Counting on one review for both sites. A WeddingPro help article, as seen in search results, says awards are earned separately on each platform and reviews cannot be combined.
  • Letting the free page go stale. Free services carry no placement guarantee, so completeness is your only lever.

Frequently asked questions

Is a vendor listing on The Knot and WeddingWire free?

A free Basic plan exists. WeddingPro, the vendor side of both sites, says you can sign up for a free account with no credit card or commitment and that Basic gives you a free Storefront to show your business, build trust and connect with leads. Advertising with prime placement is a separate paid plan, and WeddingPro's pages do not publish its price. The Knot Worldwide's terms also say free services carry no guarantee of placement and can be ended at any time without notice.

How much does it cost to advertise on The Knot and WeddingWire?

The pages we could read publish no price. WeddingPro says the paid plan, which it calls Premium in one place and Advanced in its comparison table, is priced by contacting its team, and a 2024 company release said a pay-for-performance tier would combine a low base fee with a monthly budget the vendor sets, with prices varying by region and category. WeddingPro's own blog calls its paying vendors advertisers and says it offers several plans for varying budgets, again without prices. Get the number in writing before you sign.

What is the difference between The Knot and WeddingWire?

Both are consumer wedding brands of The Knot Worldwide, which also lists The Bump, Hitched and others, and WeddingPro is its business brand for vendors. WeddingPro says its Storefronts appear on both sites, but its help pages (which we saw only as search results) show separate edit screens on each site (Contact Info on The Knot, Business Information on WeddingWire), so check both after any change. The company does not explain in the pages we read why it runs two sites.

How do I cancel a paid WeddingPro plan?

The Knot Worldwide's Terms of Purchase say the initial term is twelve months and the services renew automatically for successive twelve-month terms. To stop the first renewal, cancel in your WeddingPro dashboard at least ten days before the initial term ends. After that, cancel at least ten days before the next billing date, or the agreement ends on the following billing date instead. Payments are non-refundable except where the law says otherwise, and the company may raise rates after the initial term with at least 30 days written notice.

Can I delete a bad review on The Knot or WeddingWire?

Not on your own. The company's review policy lets a vendor file a one-time dispute, and it accepts one only for a review that breaks its rules, such as profanity, content that is verifiably false and backed by documents, or a reviewer who was not a client. It does not accept disputes for differences of opinion or subjective experiences, or for reviews posted more than 12 months earlier. The policy also says a vendor cannot remove individual reviews, and the terms say vendors have no right to have reviews removed except as the terms or the policy allow.

Can a free vendor reply to reviews?

The review policy says responses are a premium feature for paid vendors. WeddingPro's plan table lists "Collect and display reviews", but the text we could read does not show which plan that row belongs to, so check your own dashboard. Reviewers must be verified clients, with a contract or proof of payment, and the event must be within the last two years. Vendors may not post reviews on their own storefront or condition a client's right to review.

Does a wedding vendor listing help local SEO?

It works as a well-known industry citation rather than a proven ranking lever. A storefront is a public record of your name, location, website and reviews on a site that couples already search, and WeddingWire is the first site on our wedding-services citation list. We found no source that shows these listings improve Google Maps rankings, so keep your details identical to your Google Business Profile and treat the leads and reviews as the main return.
