FAQ Schema Generator

Type the questions and answers that already appear on your page and copy valid FAQPage JSON-LD. One honest note first: Google stopped showing FAQ rich results in May 2026, so this markup no longer earns a snippet there. It still tells other search engines and AI assistants exactly which question each answer belongs to, which is why we keep it on our own pages.

What the checks catch

Checks the generator runs before it builds the code
CheckWhy
A question with no answer, or an answer with no questionSkipped and flagged: a half-filled pair is invalid markup.
The same question twiceFlagged: duplicates add nothing and usually mean a copy-paste slip.
Very short answersFlagged under 10 words: an answer that does not answer reads as filler to people and machines alike.
Quotes, ampersands and line breaksEscaped for you, so the JSON stays valid whatever you type.

Use it where it helps a local business

Our take: an FAQ is worth having for the visitor first. The questions a local business gets on the phone (prices you can state, areas you cover, whether you take emergency calls, parking, payment) belong on the page that answers them. Mark that block up, keep the answers identical to what the page shows, and keep the facts in it (name, address, phone, hours) identical to your other listings. Our free local business schema generator builds the LocalBusiness block for the same page, and the NAP checker shows whether the rest of the web agrees with it.

Before you paste, run the result through validator.schema.org. Google's own Rich Results Test no longer reports FAQ markup, so the schema.org validator is the check that still tells you the JSON is correct. For the wider picture, see local business schema markup and our glossary entry on LocalBusiness schema.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does FAQ schema still get rich results on Google?

No, not for most sites. Google stopped showing FAQ rich results in May 2026. The FAQPage markup is still valid schema.org, other search engines and AI assistants can read it, and it costs nothing to keep, which is why we still use it on our own pages. Add it for clarity, not for a snippet.

What is FAQ schema?

FAQ schema is FAQPage structured data: a block of JSON-LD in the page that lists each question and its answer in a format machines read without guessing. It describes questions and answers that already appear on the page; it does not add new content.

Where do I put the generated code?

Paste the script block into the HTML of the same page that shows the questions and answers, in the head or the body. In WordPress, use a plugin or block that accepts custom HTML or a header script field for that one page. Then test it at validator.schema.org.

Can I mark up questions that are not visible on the page?

No. Every question and answer in the markup should be visible to visitors on the same page, word for word or very close to it. Markup that describes hidden or different content misleads search engines and goes against their structured data guidelines.

Is this FAQ schema generator free, and does it store what I type?

It is free with no signup. The code is built in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us.
