Geocoding
Turning a written address into map coordinates (latitude and longitude), which decides where a business pin lands.
Every map and directory geocodes the address it is given. Small differences in how an address is written, or a missing suite or street number, can move the pin to the wrong building or the wrong side of a street.
A wrong pin sends drivers to the wrong place and can weaken proximity signals, so it is worth checking the pin on each major map after any address change.
