Review velocity
The pace at which a business earns new reviews over time, as opposed to its total review count.
Review velocity measures how steadily reviews arrive: a few every week looks like a living business, while a burst followed by silence looks like a campaign. Recency is part of what customers read when they choose.
A steady velocity comes from asking every customer at the right moment, not from bulk requests, which also keeps a business clear of Google's rules against selective or incentivized reviews.
